The Santa Clarita Dive Club is an energetic group of divers dedicated to the sport of recreational scuba diving in Southern California. They are a friendly bunch all with a common goal and that is to meet new friends, dive and have fun. They have members of all skill levels and plan beach & boat dives along with some other dive related activities during the year. The club regularly surveys the members to provide a variety of activities that will appeal to all. Some of their annual activities include a December Holiday party, members photography contest, Catalina Chamber Day & Night, Sheriffs Gold Star Dive, Aquarium of the Pacific fundraiser, June Lake U/W & Beach Cleanup, PADI project Aware events, Pumpkin carving, campouts, & BBQ’s plus boat trips to the Channel Islands, oil rigs and local wrecks.
Join the Santa Clarita dive club at their next monthly meeting for fun, entertainment, raffle and a guest speaker. They meet the second Wednesday of each month unless there is a holiday conflict at Maria’s Italian American Deli, 22620 Lyons Ave at Walnut Street, Newhall, CA 91321. 661 259 6261. Get there early for dinner with social time starting at 6:30pm and the general meeting at 7:30pm. Upcoming activities and dive trips are discussed as well as recently completed trips. They usually have a guest speaker with photos or video on various topics involving diving, equipment, local or foreign travel and the ocean environment plus sometimes they have demonstrations on technical, cave, kayak, rebreathers and free diving. The meetings, with guest speakers each month, are a great place to learn something new, stay informed, meet other divers and make new friends.
