Santa Cruz-August 17, 2014-Explorer

explorerThis trip was another of many that CIDA shared with PCH Scuba and it turned out really nice. One thing I have to give them LOTS of credit for is they had all the paperwork, waivers & manifest filled out early and were ready to go at least 20 minutes before our departure time of 8:00 am. This makes everyone’s job so much easier and I have to commend them for it.

kelp forrestWe didn’t really have a plan for this trip other than going to Anacapa or Santa Cruz and with the wind and swell Santa Cruz was the only choice. Most of the diving was further west of Yellowbanks at sites like Fence line and Pink Ribbon. Captain Fidel did a good job at finding us fun dive spots with little current.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMost of the divers hadn’t even been to Santa Cruz Island before so it seemed like everyone had fun seeing new things and enjoying the trip. The ride over to Santa Cruz and back had been a bit bumpy but the ride on the protected side of the island was calm, flat and sunny. Just the type of trip everyone likes!

P1020038Candee and Steve like always did a great job and I have to say Candee is probably one of the hardest workers I have ever seen on a dive boat. Cooking, briefings, setting the anchor and more-wow!

Another fun day by all and many more charters ahead with PCH Scuba.
