Catalina-Truth-Jan. 10, 2015
By Ken Kollwitz
With the conditions we had the following week out at Farnsworth I could only think it would be the same and with no big storms it was. It did rain most of the day which I didn’t realize was in the forecast but it didn’t really matter because we were going to be underwater and with the Truth having a very large galley and bunk room staying dry and comfy wasn’t going to be a problem.
Again the ride out was calm and part way out of the harbor we were treated to a beautiful sunrise and rainbow as if the gods were telling us to enjoy our day!
We started our day at Bird Rock, moved to Isthmus Reef and then close to the Sea Fan Grotto for 3 fun filled dives and again we ran out of time for a fourth dive. We had no wind and no current on all 3 dives with 50′ plus visibility. We also had 2 hitch hikers (baby seals) that wanted a ride while at Isthmus Reef and they stayed with us on the back swim step till they got evicted after the last dive.
It rained and drizzled all day with it stopping only for a short time. It wasn’t that cold and the water temp was in the low 60’s so it still turned out to be enjoyable by everyone including the wetsuit divers. On days when it is rainy you sure do appreciate boats with large galleys and spacious bunk rooms. All in all it was another great day with fun people and fun times!
