The Truth Dive Boat Information
The Truth dive boat is the original Truth Aquatics boat. Thanks to regular updates and maintenance it remains a world-class liveaboard dive boat. Its an ideal entry level boat for smaller charters and groups of friends. The versatile Truth is at home running to any of the Channel Islands as well as specialty trips diving wrecks and coastal reefs.
She was built in Venice, California, launched in 1974 and is 65’x 22′. It has a cruising speed of 10 knots and 550 nautical mile range. The Truth is powered by two Detroit diesels and has two generators to supply plenty of power. The Truth was built for comfort. There is a large galley plus a BBQ for cooking tri tip and chicken for mutli-day trips along with a good sized sundeck built above the galley. She also has 2 heads and 3 showers (1 on deck, 2 below deck)plus a 1050 gallon fresh water capacity.
The dive deck is spacious and has plenty of room. Along the sides there is more room for bags and dive equipment. The Stern Compartment is used for a drying room for wetsuits and has large freezer for game. It is where the clothes dryer is located. If you are a hunter there is also live game wells built in the transom for game storage. For filling tanks they have 2 Ingersoll-Rand air compressors aboard capable of filling to 3500 P.S.I. For nitrox divers they are setup for that as well. For safety you will find a full first aid kit, O2 bottles, Auto Defibrillator and Certified Crew. They also have a 16-foot Caribe chase boat with 40 HP Honda 4-stroke outboard.
In the bunk room there is 12 double bunks and 20 single bunks. See bunk room layout here. Each bunk has pillows, blankets, curtains, and reading lights. There is a dressing room located in the bunk room as well. The bunks are a good size with plenty of headroom to make you feel more at home rather than being squashed into a small space.
