Diveassure and Duke
Diveassure and the Duke Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology have partnered to provide divers with better care and knowledge. This relationship assists Duke in diving safety research and enhances the services offered to Diveassure members. The Duke Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology is the Southeast’s regional referral center for hyperbaric medicine. It is the only hyperbaric facility in North Carolina accredited by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society and the first in North America to receive accreditation “With Distinction.” Its physicians are board-certified in the specialty of hyperbaric medicine.

Dive Accident Insurance
*Currently DiveAssure only offers dive accident insurance for international travel only. They do not offer it for domestic within the USA.
DiveAssure’s diving accident medical coverage includes medical evacuation, hyperbaric chamber treatments, medical expenses, medical repatriation, medical consultation and oversight by a Duke Dive Medicine physician, and more.
All DiveAssure programs are primary. With a policy that is not primary processing your claim may take a long time and you may be required to finance evacuation/medical bills, which can run tens of thousands of dollars. Additionally, a diving related claim can have an effect on your personal health insurance record.

Dive Travel Insurance
Only DiveAssure travel programs offer PRIMARY dive travel and other travel insurance benefits. “Primary insurance” means that your insurer will pay directly to service providers (i.e. air ambulance, hospital, recompression chamber, etc.), or reimburse you in full for your payments made by you, disregard any other insurance you may have, which may or may not cover the incident. All Diveassure programs are primary. With a policy that is not primary processing your claim may take a long time and you may be required to finance evacuation/medical bills, which can run tens of thousands of dollars. Additionally, a diving related claim can have an effect on your personal health insurance record.
DiveAssure’s travel insurance programs include coverage for trip cancellation/interruption, medical coverage, baggage protection, 24/7 travel assistance services, and much more.

- Emergency Inquiries—Diveassure members and partners can now call Duke Dive Medicine any time of day or night with diving-related emergency inquiries.

- Claims and Emergencies Consultation—Duke Dive Medicine will be available to Diveassure’s emergency and claims service providers for consultation and advice on all medical aspects of diving accidents.
